Coaster Challenge Q & A

What are the Park Hours?
For our registered riders the park will open at 9:00 am with 2 – 3 selected rides running and ready for you to ride.  The Park closes at 8:00 pm.

How much is parking?
Every registered rider who raises the minimum of $150 will receive a free parking pass.   It will be emailed to you a couple of days before the event.

Is it possible to purchase tickets for friends and family who want to come?
Yes, discount tickets can be purchased for $33.98.  Once you register, you will be sent the code to purchase the tickets.  The tickets are good only on August 24, 2019.  Please note, discounted ticket holders will not be allowed in the park until it is open to the public at 10:30 am.

Is there an age limit on who can ride the coasters?
There is no age limit, however there are height restrictions on how tall a person needs to be to ride the coasters.  The restrictions do vary depending on the coaster.  Please click here for the height restrictions.   Everyone under the age of 18 must bring a hard copy of the waiver, signed by a parent or legal guardian.  Click here to print the waiver.

How will I track my coaster ride distance?
On the day of the event, check in at the Special Olympics Northern California check-in tent (located just outside the front gates) prior to entering the park. Upon check-in, you will receive your fundraising incentives and tracking sheet.  Visit the tracking tent located in the park as you finish your rides to get your tracking sheet stamped.  Once you complete the designated distance visit the tracking tent by 5:30 pm to receive your medal.

What do I do once I reach my distance on the coasters?
You are welcome to enjoy all the rides and attractions that Six Flags Discovery Kingdom has to offer.  And don't forget to stop by and pick up your medal by 5:30 pm at the Special Olympics tracking tent!

Is there a time limit on when I have to complete my distance?
You may take as long as you like, but keep in mind the tracking tents will close at 2:30 pm so if you want your medal you will need to claim it by 2:30 pm.  The park closes at 8:00 pm.

If my friends decide to join me, will you accept walk-up participants?
Yes!  As long as they pay the minimum required for the distance they wish to ride, they are welcome to join you.  Cash, credit cards and checks will be accepted.
