Bocce is played around the world and is easy for anyone to pick up and play for fun.

What you need:

  • Bocce Balls – A bocce set consists of eight larger balls known as "bocce balls. The balls come four to a set in two different colors to easily represent each team. They will often be red or green, but other colors may be available as well.

  • Pallino – The pallino, which is sometimes referred to as a "jack," is a smaller ball that is used to represent the target for the bocce balls during game play.

If you don’t have your own bocce set, you can find inexpensive sets at places like Target, Walmart or Amazon.

If you’re not playing on an actual bocce court, any open space will do.  After all, it’s about the fun and not a bunch of rules and regulations.

The Concept:

  • Each team wants to roll their bocce ball as close to the Pallino as possible.  It’s just that simple!
  • Each team consists of 4 people.  Once you’ve selected your teammates you are ready to play.
  • Toss a coin to decide which team will bowl the pallino down the “court”.
  • The same team bowls their first ball toward the pallino, with the goal of getting as close to it as possible.
  • Turns are based on which team's balls are further away from the pallino. The disadvantaged team may take turns until all of their balls are used or they bowl one closer and the other team is disadvantaged.

That's all there is to it!  Have fun and on bahalf of our athletes, thank you!
