Our agency is honored to be escorting the Special Olympics Torch, "The Flame of Hope" on its journey to the 2021 Special Olympics Northern California Summer Games, which will be held virtually in June. San Jose PD will be carrying the flame of hope through our city on Thursday, June 17, 2021.
We hope you will consider joining our team and help us raise much needed funds for Special Olympics Northern California. There is an option to sign up as a virtual runner if you cannot join us in person or are more comfortable running on your own. The virtual run option allows you to sign up and receive the same dri-fit T-shirt , but gives you the option of running (or walking, riding, etc) from June 14, 2021 through June 25, 2021.
Your $35 registration fee will include a dry-fit Law Enforcement Torch Run Runners shirt that you will wear with pride when we run the Torch through our local community. San Jose's Police Amateur Athletic Associations (PAAF) will reimburse all PAAF members $35 registration fee after the completion of the run. We are encouraging everyone to go the extra mile and raise a minimum of $125 which is the approximate cost of one athlete to participate in one sport season.
Because of the pandemic many Special Olympics fundraisers and sporting events had to be cancelled which means a lot of fundraising opportunities were lost.
If you are unable to join us in the run, please consider making a donation to support our team.
